I’m lucky enough to run a business in an industry I’m truly passionate about — Personal Development.
I live in Michigan with my husband, our blended crew of four boys (ages 14 to 22), two golden retrievers, and a cat who thinks she runs the place.
Life is full of sports, from track, cross country, soccer and lacrosse to days out on the boat, watching the boys wakeboard.
I’ve always loved the outdoors and we’re fortunate to have lots of family nearby.
After a long career in all aspects of HR, I was craving more ‘time freedom’ and the chance to work for myself.
Starting an online business has opened up new opportunities and adventures I never imagined possible.
This business lets me pour all of myself into something that’s truly mine.
THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: For many years, my career has been in Human Resources.
Mostly in generalist roles, the most recent, focusing on employee benefits, a space I’ve really enjoyed.
I’ve done it all, from hiring to discipline and everything in between.
I’ve always loved adding value to people’s lives, but over time, the lack of ‘time freedom’ started to wear thin.
I wanted more flexibility to live life on my own terms, so I made the decision to create something for myself instead of continuing to build someone else’s dream.
THE DREAM THAT WOULDN’T CLICK: I’d dabbled in a few of my own business ideas over the years.
I could see the vision so clearly, but I just couldn’t seem to connect all the dots and put every step into place on my own.
I even looked into bookkeeping as a business, but something was blocking me from really getting over the line into being a full-fledged business owner.
Deep down, I kept thinking, “Somewhere along the way, this just isn’t going to work for me.”
I had the drive, I had the ideas, I just didn’t have the right vehicle to get me where I wanted to go.
THE SPARK THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING:
Personal Development means so many things to me. I’ve always had this desire to learn more, grow more, and accomplish new things.
Not just for myself, but because it impacts all the relationships in my life.
Gardening is my time out in nature, watching things grow and giving myself space to think.
I’ve always loved being a knowledge holder, so I was constantly looking for the next insight or idea.
Somewhere along the way, I stumbled across a concept I wanted to explore further, so I got to ‘googling’ and landed on a website much like the one you’re on now.
Something about it drew me in, I popped in my details, and the rest, as they say, is history!

THE BUSINESS THAT WAS A BOOM: The business I discovered that day is the one I’m grateful to be running now.
It gives me the time freedom I’d been searching for and full control over my schedule — without the stress of building a giant team or having everyone pulling at me.
It’s scalable, exciting, and surrounded by a community of like-minded people who are all committed to bettering themselves.
I love having something that’s mine, where I can pour all of myself into it and truly see what I’m capable of.

Our family loves being outdoors, but especially loves being on the water - our favorite are the inland lakes in Northern Michigan. The kids play sports during the school year, so summer is our time to relax and enjoy being on the boat/outdoors together.
I enjoy stand up paddle boarding, especially in the early morning or evenings when the water is calm.
